What I’m working on:
- Stitching here and there as always. Everything is happening slower as I continue to try and get enough rest while working weird hours.
- In early March, I did my first linocut carving with some friends. It was my first time trying it and I'm really excited about the possibilities, even though I carved the text block (designed by Alison!) completely backwards...oops!
- Even though this governing system is failing us utterly and it seems more and more like our elected officials care less and less about us, I am still calling and emailing them. I add my representatives to my contacts under P for Politician/name/office for easy access, that way I can call quickly and easily. If you want to call too, but aren't sure what to say, there are some some scripts on the 5Calls app that can help get you started.
- I learned how to carve a spoon last week, something I've been pulled to do for a long time. It's rough and not finished yet, but I'm basking in my beginner's awe and seeing spoon potential in so many branches now.
- I started spinning an alpaca fleece, almost 3 lbs! It'll take me a long time to do and I've yet to dream up what that yarn will become but it feels good to have the fiber running through my hands and having yarn twist out the other side.
